In the Gospel, Jesus gave the parable of the persistent widow in order to teach the necessity to pray always without becoming weary. The Gospel reading summarizes the theme of the readings.

Prayer opens the floodgates of heavenly blessings, helps us overcome all trials and enemies, and leads us closer to God.

Persevering through the difficult times in life and constant communication with God assists us in having the right attitude and direction. As St. Padre Pio said, “Prayer is the oxygen of our soul.”
